Just wanted to let everyone know that we had to put our 13 year old dog Tidbit to sleep last week . She was blind , deaf and could hardly walk anymore and had dementia . We still have our 11 year old dog Hershey and the stray cats Turtle ( who now is a house cat part time and Orange who lives outside in the barn .
Thank you to everyone who answered the favorite question so far, I am going to give everyone more time to respond. The answers will be added next month. If you have not responded to the question I hope to hear from you What actor/actress would you want to play you if they were making a movie about your life?
I enjoyed visiting with Aunt Emma and her wonderful family a couple weekends ago during Uncle Gerry's interment ceremony in Houghton. We had lots of laughs and shared fond memories. My mom loved Emma so much. I don't ever once remember mom having anything but glowing words about Emma.
Sara - thank you hugs to you for our family site! I log in many times just to stay connected to everyone through the photos, messages, recipes, family favs - everything! The collage of Dempster photos is heartwarming...and the recipe section is one of my favorites!
Sorry I missed the July question. Not sure why I didn't see the e-mail. My favorite summer activities are ranked this way: canoeing, outdoor cooking, campfires and Bocce!
sorry no response getting yelled at by my sister. working too much when i can't answer family. hope spring comes soon. love suzanne,(carolina's sister)
Thanks to Carolina & Mark for hosting a wonderful feast! Great food, wonderful folks and new memories to cherish. It was also nice seeing some cousins only four days later at Lee Gleason's heart-warming service. She was quite a woman.
Aunt Dawn, I too laughed out loud when I read my Pop's favorite memory I can not take all the credit for the topic...thank you Brian, Robin and Carolina for your input on the topic.
Also...thank you to all who sent birthday wishes. I had a great 30th birthday!
I literally laughed out loud when I read Mark's favorite "Meyer" memory! I could just picture it happening. Uncle Bill had a great sense of humor. Our two families are so entwined...we could spend hours swapping stories about the "old days". Sara...another great topic. I love you for doing this family site for us. Thanks for all your hard work. And HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY!!
Congrats & hugs to Alan x 2 ... on his new home ...AND ...on his Best of BPC Award at work!! Uncle Mike and I are very proud of you! And sympathy & hugs to Wesley, Kristie & Elijah on Zeus' passing. And Sara - I have to admit that I am HOOKED on your monthly questions! I really look forward to seeing everyone's response! Hope to see LOTS of family at Dempster. But we have to leave after campfire on the last Friday to go to the Sam Family reunion. Hugs!
I took Aunt Joyce to dinner a few nights ago, and we talked about Dempster. I'm definitely going to try to get down there for a night (probably an early Saturday to mid-day Sunday). But I'm not sure if it's going to be a the first or second week. I'm at the mercy of the schedulers at The Buffalo News (we have to work one weekend every few weeks). I hope to see many of you folks up at Dempster! And I promise, I won't get lost in the woods this year!
Wasn't sure how the animal thing was going to go but I have to admit I was laughing out loud at times when I read what everyone posted. Very interesting too. I think we should give Sara some ideas for the next one.
Our family fav lists of animals was sooo funny...AND revealing! I need to ask brother Neal how often he sees this unicorn he mentioned ... and I strongly suggest nobody have Cliff "pet sit" if he's hungry! Can't wait to see what Sara's next topic will be ...
Well, I didn't get a great response to the favorite website question so I'm going to try one more time with a different topic to see if I get a better response from people. Look for an e-mail from me soon!
Elijah is delightful!
Great idea about a "favorites" page, Sara. Sorry I missed the cut-off date (crazy times in Newspaperland). One of my favorite Web sites is www.librarything.com. It has hundreds of thousands of members who offer fantastic leads on great books.
So sorry to hear about the loss of DeeOhGee. What a wonderful dog. This is the ONLY part of being a pet owner that I hate. Saying farewell is so excruciating.
I hope the family is staying warm & safe during this bone-chilling winter. Looking forward to catching up.
Sending hello and hugs to all. Extra hug to Mark and Nini & family on their sad loss of DeeOhGee. It is a heartbreaking loss...I can totally relate. On a happier note...Sara, you are so creative. Great site!
Congrats to Carolina on her well-deserved retirement! It was great seeing so many friendly faces at Neal & Char's! I couldn't remember the Web site address when I was over at Neal's, but I'm e-mailing him the link now.
Take care and have a great Christmas!
